Jimmy Newsom, Owner/Manager
LLC Managing Member
Mr. Newsom founded RJM Investigative Services in 1997 and holds a managers license with the Texas Commission on Private Security. Mr. Newsome has a BA degree in Criminal Justice and is a provider of workers’ compensation continuing education accredited by the Texas Department of Insurance.
Prior to RJM, Mr. Newsom served as an Assistant Vice President in the Claimant and Provider Fraud Department of the Texas Workers’ Compensation Insurance Fund. Mr. Newsom is experienced in insurance investigation review and research.
Mr. Newsom brings a wealth of law enforcement experience with over 25 years of handling criminal crimes including homicide, sexual assault, narcotics, and white collar fraud. In addition to his criminal experience, Mr. Newsom also has experience in a wide variety of civil litigation support and experienced in interviewing and surveillance operations.

Velma Rendon, Associate Investigator
Ms. Rendon is a San Antonio native and is very familiar with the San Antonio community and its culture. Ms. Rendon began her investigative experience in 1991 when she was hired into Claims Fraud Unit (SIU) at USAA in San Antonio.
After 13 years at USAA, Ms. Rendon became a State of Texas Licensed Private Investigator and contracted with two of the most respected private investigation firms in San Antonio for 12 years. During that time, Ms. Rendon was able to hone and develop a high level of investigative, business and people skills working a variety of cases as a contract investigator. Although a contractor, Ms. Rendon served in the capacity of case manager.
With over 22 years of investigative experience, in April of 2016, Ms. Rendon forged an associate relationship with RJM Investigative Services, LLC working primarily insurance fraud and workers compensation cases out of the San Antonio area.
Ms. Rendon is also certified by the State of Texas Supreme Court as a process server. Ms. Rendon is highly skilled in surveillance and covert intelligence gathering operations and has given expert testimony in the judicial courts.
Ms. Rendon brings a wealth of insurance fraud knowledge to RJM Investigative Services, LLC and is highly respected by her peers.
Stephen Grant – Investigator
Stephen Grant was born in Beaumont, Texas and grew up in rural East Texas. He is very familiar with the East Texas culture and understands the diversity of its population and the economic environment of the area. Mr. Grant became interested in investigative work at an early age. He worked as an Asset/Protection/Loss Prevention Officer at a large retail outlet while attending Lamar University primarily in an undercover theft/investigation capacity.
In addition to his Asset Protection/Loss Prevention background, Mr. Grant also was employed as a uniformed security officer with a major oil company and spent a short time as a 911 emergency services technician. Prior to joining RJM Investigative Services, Mr. Grant spent 8 years as a correctional officer with the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department in Beaumont, Texas.
Mr. Grant is certified by the State of Texas Supreme Court as a process server and is trained in both basic and covert surveillance operations.
Mr. Grant joined RJM Investigative Services in January, 2017 and is based out of the Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas area.
Ed Stuckey, Investigator
Mr. Stuckey was born in Atlanta, Texas. He received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where he earned a degree in Operations Analysis and General Engineering. Mr. Stuckey served as a submarine nuclear weapons officer.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Mr. Stuckey began his civilian career at Texas Instruments Corporation located in Stafford, Texas. Upon leaving Texas Instruments, Mr. Stuckey spent many years in municipal government in asset control, warehousing and inventory systems and procedural controls. Mr. Stuckey ended his corporate carrier in the private sector as an Executive Vice President of a privately held medical equipment company.
Mr. Stuckey is certified by the State of Texas Supreme Court as a process server. He is also trained in interviewing, surveillance operations and litigation support.
Mr. Stuckey is well versed in the subject matters of Waste, Fraud and Abuse, employee theft and embezzlement and is available for consultation in these areas. Mr. Stuckey joined RJM Investigative Services, LLC in January of 2016 and brings a wealth of forensic, general business and management experience.
Kirk A. Storey, Sr., Investigator
Kirk Storey grew up in South Texas and has lived in the Texas Hill Country for over 32 years. He is most familiar with the people and culture of both South Texas and the Texas Hill Country and understands the pressures and challenges of the local economic environment. Through a lifetime of continuing education, some through the school of “hard knocks”, has provided Kirk with a strong work ethic and an array of social skills which has made him tenacious and determined investigator.
Mr. Storey became interested in private investigative work after fighting for the safety and well being of his first grandson and obtained his license as a Texas licensed private investigator in March of 2015. Mr. Storey is a strong advocate for children and veterans and has served in multiple leadership positions, including state level officer positions, to a large fraternal organization since 1994.
Kirk says he “eats stress for lunch” which has made him a highly sought-after investigator. Mr. Storey is skilled in background research, skip-tracing and surveillance. As an advocate for children and veterans, Kirk has a desire to continue to hone his investigative skills to protect, aid and assist children and veterans whenever and wherever necessary.
Mr. Story is certified by the State of Texas Supreme Court as a process server. He is also trained in covert surveillance operations and planning.
Kirk Story joined RJM Investigative Services, LLC in March of 2015. His quick wits, business savvy and organizational skills has made him a valued asset of the firm where he serves as an organizational and operations planner.
Milton Bertolio, Investigator
LLC Business Manager
Milton Bertolio was born in Port Arthur, Texas. He graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas earning a BBA in Accounting. Mr. Bertolio was hired as an Assistant Cashier by Sabine Bank in Port Arthur in 1977 and ended his banking career as a Vice President after 8 years as an installment and commercial lender.
He began his accounting career with a local CPA firm in the Beaumont area in 1985. His primary areas of audit experience throughout his career include the audits and taxation of banks and other financial institutions, commercial businesses, governmental entities and not-for-profit organizations.
In addition, Mr. Bertolio has worked a number of fraud and embezzlement forensic audits involving banks and credit unions, not for profit organizations as well as corporate and individual business’s. He has also assisted local attorneys in civil litigations involving the locating of hidden assets and other items of interest in divorce and bankruptcy proceedings.
Mr. Bertolio has worked with the United States Bankruptcy Court, United States Attorney’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms as well as local District Attorney’s Offices. He has given expert testimony in the Federal Courts, District Courts and local Municipality Courts.
Mr. Bertolio is also a State of Texas Supreme Court certified process server. Mr Bertolio is trained in interviewing and surveillance operations.
Mr Bertolio also is a guest speaker and lecturer in the subject matters of Waste, Fraud and Abuse, employee theft and embezzlement and is available to speak to various local civic and professional organizations upon request..
Mr. Bertolio joined RJM Investigative Services in December 2015 and brings of wealth of forensic accounting and litigation support experience. He also serves as the Firms primary insurance investigation review and research specialist.
Tommy Perkins, Investigator
Mr. Perkins was born and reared in Mission, Texas. He is most familiar with the people and culture of the Texas Rio Grande Valley. Upon leaving the Valley, Mr. Perkins began his business career in Austin, Texas where he owned a large automotive repair business and a small independent automobile dealership where he began financing and carrying notes on the automobiles he sold.
In 2002, Mr. Perkins became interested in private investigative work and obtained his license as a Texas licensed private investigator. Through the years, Mr. Perkins has worked a number of workers compensation, infidelity and drug related cases here in Texas and as far way as Illinois and Michigan including several high profile cases.
Mr. Perkins says he “has the patience of an oyster” which has made him a highly sought-after investigator in the specialty of surveillance. Mr. Perkins is highly trained and skilled in both surveillance and skip-tracing.
Mr. Perkins joined RJM Investigative Services, LLC in 2012 and brings a wealth of investigative, surveillance and skip-tracing knowledge to the firm. Mr. Perkins is highly respected by his peers and is known as a “Surveillance Specialist”.
